Information for Dance Teachers

Each Youth Ballet Academy Course is specifically designed to supplement and enhance a student’s current dance training. Students will participate in a selection of Master Classes, coaching and rehearsals, taught by an exciting team of renowned guest teachers alongside Richard Slaughter and Ruth Egerton-Stein.

The opportunity to work with each different expert teacher will expand their understanding and technical prowess. Rehearsals and Performance opportunities will develop their presentation skills, artistry and creativity. All Ballet classes are non syllabus and master classes will cover a range of styles such as, historical dance, character dance and mime, each complimenting the student’s classical ballet technique. Particular emphasis will be given to musicality, co-ordination and team-work as we rehearse in preparation for the performances.

Stage disciplines are also emphasised and the works studied will be placed in the historical contexts appropriate. Professional etiquette and discipline will be expected from all students throughout the duration of the course.

Your students will gain many new skills associated with the profession, and will experience the life of a dancer from the initial audition process through to the final curtain call. We hope you will see a real development in their work approach, dedication and enthusiasm.

We also hope students will form lasting friendships with other like minded students.

All student’s dance teachers and schools will be credited in the programme as we feel it important to show that the results are a joint effort. There will be special reduced price tickets for school parties as we want all to partake in the joy and success we anticipate.

We hope you will encourage your students to audition and that our course will fuel their passion and enthusiasm for dance.
